18 Cobras teed it up on another scorching hot day at Brombrough on 10 July.
The day started with sausage butties (for a change) and coffee. The host captain, Ronnie Turner, provided all Cobras with a Cobra tie pin and the obligatory golf ball.
The course was in fantastic condition with receptive greens and we teed up in 6 x 3 balls, with 2 out of 3 scoring except for the par 3s where all scores counted. The Coras all gave a warm welcome to our new Captain of Captains, Tony Davies who was attending his first Cobras Tour event. Welcome Tony!
Due to late call offs, the pairings were updated late on the Wednesday and were as follows:
Group 1: Tony Davies, Ronnie Turner & Paul McManus
Group 2: Ronnie Samuel, Paul Robley & Vic Guney
Group 3: Ken Gibson, Andy Killeen & Dale Kenningham
Group 4: Simon Harwood, David Hest & Dave Pennington
Group 5: Mike Robertson, Dave Gregson & Ronan McGrath
Group 6: Martyn Croft, John Jones & Dave Blake
The winners on the day with a very fine score of 88 was Ronnie S, Paul and Vic - well done!
Second on 82 points was Tony, Ronnie T & Paul
Nearest the Pin on 4th was David Hest
Nearest the Pin in 2 on 13 - Paul Robley
A great day was had by all - its onwards and upwads to Ashton on Tuesday 15th July.
