A great turn out of 26 players for the first “major” of the 2025s year on 18 August 2025 at a fast running West Lancs. A little cloudy with a gentle breeze to focus the mind, we were welcomed by Captain Cian over the customary bacon barms. The Captain of the Society, Tony Davies, unveiled “The Cobra” trophy that was to be played for.
Scoring was consistent with a championship links with Simon Harwood coming out on top with 40 points, and in addition to the well received trophy, he took home 4 cut glass tumblers.
The ever consistent David Hest took 2nd place on a card play off with 38 points, edging out Ronnie Samuel on the same score. They took home M&S vouchers for £30 and £20 respectively.
Nearest the pin at the 17th went to Dave Pennington, and Dave Blake took the honours for the longest drive on the 15th.
A fine meal and presentation concluded a very special day.
