Woolton

13 Cobras teed it  up at Woolton Golf Course on the 11th August 2025 for the latest Cobra Tour date.

The day was exceptional with weather of 29 Degrees. Competition was Stableford off the Yellow tees using 90% handicap.

We enjoyed the customary breakfast of a bacon bap and tea/coffee on arrival and a gift from the host Captain.

The pairings were as follows:

Group 1: Tony Davies, Paul Evans & Martyn Green

Group 2: Vic Gurney, Simon Harwood, & Keith Rilley

Group 3: Dave Hest, John Jones, & Dale Kenningham

Group 4: Ken Gibson, Dave Gregson, Tristram Lesser & Mike Robertson

The course was in great condition and we were looking forward to a great day with hot and sunny weather. 

Because of the anticipated heat, the evening meal dress code was Cobra black shirt, no blazer and tie required.

The winner was announced as Paul Evans with a score of 41 points; Runner-up was Ken Gibson with 35 points. Finally, winner of nearest of the pin was Dave Hest.

The company enjoyed a couple of drinks of the patio in the sunshine followed by dinner which was chicken breast, followed by apple crumble and custard for dessert.

All in all, a memorable day out. Thanks to all the Cobra Captains who graced us with their presence; and for those who couldn’t make it, hopefully there will be other opportunities to visit Woolton Golf Club in the near future.
