15 Cobras teed it up at Prenton on 10th June on a warm and sunny day as we've come to expect at these events!
The day started with bacon butties and coffee on arrival and host captain and elder statesman, Mike Robertson, provided all the Cobras with a bag of goodies all with the Cobra emblem. Format was best 2 from 3 with all scores to count on the par 3s.
The pairings were selected by randomiser with the following groupings:
Group 1:
Paul McManus, Martyn Croft and David Gest
Group 2:
Ronnie Turner, Paul Robley and Martyn Green
Group 3:
Tristram Lesser, Keith Reilly and Dave Pennington
Group 4:
Mike Roberson, Vic Guney and Ronan McGrath
Group 5:
Ronnie Samuel, Simon Harwood and Ken Gibson
The winners came from Group 1 - Paul, Dave and Mart with an impressive 79 points. Well done to them!
Longest drive went to Paul Robley (yawn.....) and nearest the pin went to Tristram
Well done to all prizewinners and commiseration to the rest. It was a great day, the course and the greens were excellent and enjoyed by all.
Keith left early for a rave that he was attending in Ibiza however Paul Whyte joined us for the evening meal; most had forgotten what he looked like so was good to see him 😂🤣 The meal was excellent and thanks go to the bar and catering staff for their great service.
Prenton will also be the venue for our first salver day - something to look forward to..........
