It was only right and fitting that the 2 replica Ryder Cups were made available for some special photographs on the day, following the European victory the night before.

Dave presented everyone with a S&A goody bag, which contained a ball marker, pitch repairer, tees, pencil, pen and golf ball. Following some breakfast – the groups were raring to go for an individual stableford competition.

The Groups were as follows:

Group 1 – Keith Reilly, Tony Davies (Captain of Captains) & Martyn Croft

Group 2 - Paul Robley, Dave Blake & Tristram Lesser

Group 3 - Andy Killeen, Dave Pennington & Alan Acheson

Group 4 - Paul Evans, Paul McManus & Ronan McGrath

Group 5 - Dave Gregson, Vic Guney & Martyn Green

Group 6 - David Hest, Mike Robertson & Ron Samuel

Group 7 - Paul Whyte, Ronnie Turner, Joe Cain & John Jones

Everyone seemed to enjoy the golf and thankfully the weather was very kind to us.

The winners on the day were as follows:

1st place – 45 points John Jones (definitely needs a handicap chop!)

2nd place – 43 points Vic Guney

3rd place – 43 points Paul Robley

Nearest the pin on hole 8 - Paul Robley (very good shot on the 1st too)

Nearest the pin on hole 10 - Paul McManus

Longest drive on the 17th – Paul Robley

20 of us sat down for the meal in the S&A Ryder Room (the 2 avid Evertonians had to dash off for the match - bet they wish they hadn’t bothered!!)
